The Pursuit of Passion
It's pretty cool to see this has made it a whole year with the new format. I feel like the MADSPEED.CO brand has evolved pretty well over the past few years.
We have decided to dive back into our passion for health, wellness, strength and conditioning. (You will find a few new tabs on the menu bar to reflect some of the recent updates.) A huge part of this has come from Marti and her pursuit to become a great coach and mentor. She began her pursuit of health and fitness before we met and was an amazing athlete when she began training with me in 2015.
Here's a short clip of her performing weighted dips from one of our first sessions together in May of 2015.
Over the past 8 months she has worked diligently to acquire both a Crossfit Level 1 certification and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification. Both of which are well recognized and a vital step in the journey we are on. She is now pursuing a Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition Certification to add the list of credentials and plans to obtain level 2 certifications in all of these as she continues her journey.
With so much going on in the world today its easy to get distracted and lose sight of the greater goal. I personally have not been as committed or as disciplined as Marti but I have began making the necessary decisions to get back on track. Just like many of you, we have experienced several challenges as a result of the recent pandemic. But at the same time, I feel very fortunate to be where we are today and look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together.
It's times like these that really help us to put things into perspective. Even though we are faced with a lot of uncertainty at the moment, we have actually been given an opportunity to step back and recognize our lives, our habits, our hygiene and most importantly, our health. With this opportunity we can take into consideration what changes we can make to move forward with an improved lifestyle plan and achieve a better quality of life. We can choose to eat more nutritious whole foods, drink plenty of water, and spending more time outdoors performing recreational activities. In addition to these simple lifestyle habits, we can also choose to spend more time reading, learning and improving our understanding of the world around us.
Every day is an opportunity to do whats best for our future selves.
